Sarah Caruana Dingli is a young talented designer who will be showing her new collection during the New Designers Fashion Show as part of Mercedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week. Despite being so young she already knows the direction she is taking plus she has been involved in the London Fashion Week whilst working with Julien Macdonald. Sarah loves colors, prints and lace and her work clearly shows this. One thing is sure you can expect colorful surprises in her designs. Today Sarah shares a glimpse of her designs as well as what has inspired her.

01: What inspired you for the collection that you will be presenting during Mercedes-Benz Malta Fashion Week 2015?

Alice in wonderland, as it is has always been my favourite source of inspiration.

Q02: What are the main trends this season in your opinion?

I think lace is coming back, which is something I personally love and a 70s feel.

Q03: What inspired you to create your own fashion brand and become a designer?

I have loved art and design since a very young age and I have always been brought up with it surrounding me. My grand-mother inspired me to do fashion and thought me all she knew before I attended University.

Q04: Is this the first time you participate in Malta Fashion Week and have you also participated in any other Fashion events abroad?

It is my first time in Malta Fashion Week but I have done shows with Toni and Guy in Manchester, I have had 3 of my own shows in Manchester and worked with Julien Macdonald on his ss15 collection for London Fashion Week.

Q05: Which international brands do you follow or inspire you?

Alexander Mcqueen, Elie Saab, Julien Macdonald

Q06: Do you have plans to expand outside of Malta?

I shall be launching an online shop in the next month, which I plan to target a market here and in the UK.

Q07: What kind of designs do you enjoy doing most?

I love color, so anything colorful and with a print!

Q08: What would you like to achieve, what are your future plans and is there a brand which success you would like to follow?

I would love it if my online store is a success but other then that I plan to just enjoy the progress and see where I end up.
